I attended the funeral service for Joe and Kevin. I also was able to ride in the prosession. I was absolutely touched by the tribute and response from the firefighters and the public on all the freeway overpasses and streets showing their respect with salutes, hands over their hearts and all the flags waving.

I flew with Joe on a special weekend some 2 years ago. A great young man in a very fine team at the air wing. A real good bloke who liked a laugh and was very personable - on the tarmac, all business - a true professional.

Our hearts go out to the families of the fallen heros that passed in a tragic accident.They where brave men that chose to put their lives on the lines to protect communties from crime and they will be sadly missed in the brotherhood of blue that they served.

Kevin and Joseph were, still are, and always will be protectors in the sky. Now their vantage point is a little higher. My heartfelt condolences to the families.

I was driving along the Howe Ave/Hwy 50 overpass when I seen the fire truck with the fire fighters standing on top showing their respect. It was very moving. It is a sight I will not forget.

My husband and I have followed the story since the begginning. We are sorry for you loss. I did not know the two men but I was payig my respects during the motorcade. My family is praying for the two families that have lost their love ones and the family of the who is in the hospital. We are praying that he may give you some insight as to what happened in the crash.

I followed this story on CNN.COM and was touched by the tragic beginning till the heart felt end. Everyday we hear of heroes over seas but lets not neglect the heroes that serve and protect the citizens of the USA everyday. My tears, thoughts and prayers are with Kevin, Eric and Joseph's families including the police family. May GOD bless, comfort and keep you all.

I saw three officers at a local Starbucks this morning and wanted to go and give them all a hug. Saying thank you for protecting our streets, our families, homes, and lives just doesn't seem enough. All members of Law Enforcement take a huge risk each time they are on patrol. It is sad that we have a tendency to forget all that they do until the loss of an officer reminds us. Words cannot describe how sorry I am for the loss these families have endured. My heart goes out to all of you. I continue to keep all officers in my prayers for a safe return home after each day. Thank you will never be enough to say, but to all officers...THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THAT YOU DO EACH DAY. It takes great strength and courage to agree to serve and protect not only your own families but all of ours. I'm glad that my family is part of a community being watched over by such fine officers. And to Eric and his family - the Fregeau Family is wishing you a speedy recovery.

As the daughter of a retired CHP officer, my heart goes out to the families of any officer harmed or lost in the line of duty. I send the most sincere condolences to the families of Joseph Kievernagle and Kevin Blount, and will pray for the speedy and full recovery of Eric Henrikson, who came to my home twice - the last time only days before the accident. God speed to all three.

I am a fellow Law Enforcement Officer. I heard Joe and Kevin flying over my house 10 minutes before they bravely fought to keep STAR 6 from harming anyone on the ground. I wish I had known them personally but I did not. I pray for their families and the recovery of Eric. I am so sorry for your loss. They are still protecting us from above.

I was in the procession and I would like to thank the citizens for showing their support. It was truly moving and reminded me of why I do this for a living.

Sheriff Blanas was right to call these three gentlemen "heroes in the sky." Their loss is felt throughout our community.

As a member of the No. Sac Motor Squad my fellow officers and I frequently called upon STAR for assistance. They were always there to help in any way. My condolences to the families and to the law enforcement community. From half a world away, you are in my prayers.

I am a sergeant on the Sacramento Police Department. Over the years I have personally met both Kevin and Joe. For the last couple years I have worked swing shift patrol in the Oak Park Area. I have asked for air support for my team at dangerous situations many times, and I am certain that Joe and Kevin resonded as our guardian angels. They were SO GOOD at what they did. I am certain they saved the lives of other law enforcement officers and citizens routinely.... we will never know how many.

I pray for the Blount family, the Kievernagle family, the Henrickson family, and the deputies who worked closely with Joe, Kevin and Eric. I thank God that I am able to work with people so brave as Joseph Kievernagle, Kevin Blount, and Eric Henrickson.

Everytime my kids hear a helicopter they RUN outside.. look up and wave. You are hero's to people of all sizes. My children and I watch yesterday the service on TV. It was so touching. I have never seen anything like it. My older son asked if we could go and watch you all drive by.. So, we jumped in the car and much to my surprise there were hundreds of people with the same idea. I looked around and thought to myself how lucky we were to live here... Our thoughts and prayers are with Kevin and Joes family along with all the sheriff's department. It such a huge loss.
