Akemon Family Elk Grove,
We just wanted to wish you the best in the next few weeks and to send you our deepest condolences. We did not know these officers personally but we know they put their life on the line every day and we appreciate it. Our hearts and prayers go out to you and all their friends and families. We pray for you all to get through this. It will get better. They are with God now still doing their job but instead of just protecting the area in Sacramento, they are protecting all of God's children now and we thank them. It's not easy putting your life on the line every day, and we say that because both my husband and son both work for the prison. May God Bless you all.

The night of the tragedy I was at home listening to the police scanner and heard everything. As I sat there in disbelief, not knowing what was really happening, my disbelief turned to sadness hearing all of the officers trying to frantically get to the downed officers to save them. Tears started to well up in my eyes as I continued to listen. It breaks my heart when I hear of any officer getting killed in the line of duty, but this hit real close to home. I did not know any of the officers, but do you really need to know them to feel the pain? It comforts me somewhat to know these two officers are still together in heaven, and died doing what they loved to do - helping the people of Sacramento. You will NEVER be forgotten. Thank you for your dedicated service and condolences to the families of these two brave officers. To Eric, keep fighting. We need you to continue protecting us. My prayers are with all of the families.
In Your Memory
Don't cry because you think I'm gone, for I am with you still.
Don't seek reasons to explain what is simply God's will.
It' very hard to leave all of you and everything I've known, but my work on earth is done now. Our Lord has called me home.
I know you will find comfort just let faith guide your way.
Cause, from the moment I was born, I have been preparing for this day.
Remember me for the laughter, that's the greatest gift we give. Keep me in your heart and mind because that's where I now live.

Kevin and Joe will live forever in our hearts. Joe was in David's first Academy class when he was on staff and was a very good recruit, a quiet leader. Also, our oldest son, Tony, is with the Faifax, VA Police Department helicopter detail and we know how much he loves his job, so we know how much they enjoyed theirs. May God grant comfort and peace to their families.

I would like to send my condolences to your Department and to the families of the fallen deputies. Yes, they certainly were heros. I admire and respect those who live and risk their lives to help others. It is a noble profession, probably too much taken for granted by those of us they serve. To me, there is no greater way to live or to serve God than to be there for others. I wish them well on their next journey. They lived and died heros. For them, including your deputy who clings to life, and their loved ones, may the blessing be.

Proverbs 15:14 tells us that if we have God's understanding, we can ask Him for the knowledge to overcome every trial and problem we face. God is bigger than our grief, sorrow, pain and every problem that any of us could face.

God is there for us, to help us overcome anything life brings our way. God is the one that will rescue us and help us in our hour of need.

We must give our heartaches and troubles to God and keep a cheerful attitude no matter what is going on in our lives. We need to remember, "this too, shall pass" as God is eternal and has a good plan for our future.

As Christians, death is the last enemy we face, as we have the assurance that we shall see all of our loved ones who have died in Christ once again. We will be reunited with them. That shall happen when we get to Heaven, or when Christ comes again to this earth and brings them with Him at the resurrection. We are not like those who have no hope.

In Christ, our future is full of His promises and we are promised victory over death and the grave!

Hello

This message is to the family of Kevin Blount. My name is Aaron Karpaty I grew up with Kevin in our elementy years. We were good friend from about 3rd to 6th grade. I remember that we had got caught smoking cigarettes by Kevins Dad in the park across the street from Kevins house and his Dad was so mad at us, and told us how bad it was to smoke. I also remember playing baseball with kevin at the diamonds, thats what we called it, and riding our bikes at the jumps. I have a lot of memories of Kevin and his family. I bet that Kevins dad was so proud that he became police officer. My prayers are with you all.I will never forget Kevin Blount. God Bless

Sacramento has lost two heros! It is dangerous enough to put on the uniform and badge of any law enforcement agency, but it even more dangerous to add the element of flying. These deputies have given their last full measure of valor to the citizens of Sacramento County. I pray they have found peace with God, and their families shall have fair winds and following seas in the weeks and months to come. God Bless!

My heart-felt sympathy goes out to the families of the fallen officers, and my thoughts continue for the young man who is fighting so hard for his life. This is a very sad time for us all. I live in one of the communities at the top of the canyon where the craft went down. Although the residents of The Ridge, including myself, may have never met these officers in person, it was [is] always a comforting sound to hear them above us. That sound let us know that we were being watched-over and protected. When possible, I would wave to our friends in the sky; I don’t know if they ever saw, but it was my way of saying thank you. I think I am safe to speak on behalf of our small community when I say to the two officers who passed-on - Rest Peacefully, and God Speed for a full recovery to our officer who remains in critical condition. The families of these people will need continued comfort and support. I hope the Peace Officer Community, as well as the public will keep those families in mind and continue to provide support. Thank you to all of those who put their lives on the line for each of us, and to their families for sharing them with us so unselfishly. Simply stated -Thank you!
