SSD K9 Teams finish 3rd and 4th Overall In 5k Race

Sacramento County hosted the first 5k race on 10/25/07 to kick off its employee giving campaign.  Over 400 participants signed up to run or walk in the race.  To participate in the race you had to field a team of five.  The team could only consist of three members of the same sex and two of the opposite.  SSDK9 fielded two teams in the race.

Team SSDK9 Gold consisted of Mark Limbird, Todd Henry, Scott Puffer, Raylene Cully, and Linda Waltz.  Team SSDK9 Black consisted of Ruben Pena, Shane Gregory, Matt Owens, Kristen Strock, and Kim Clement.

Other members of the SSDK9 team showed up to cheer on the runners and brought their 4 legged partners to meet and greet the public.

Team SSDK9 Gold placed 3rd and team SSDK9 Black placed 4th overall.  Kristen Strock placed 1st for the women and Kim Clement placed second.  We all had a great time after the race was over and look forward to participating next year.

"It was a great event and had a fun time. I was so inspired by Scooter (K97) that I went and bought new running shoes and shorts.

"Congrats on 3rd and 4th overall. Thats excellent considering there was 400 partcipants. I'm going to file a motion to suppress the score for the guy from the public defenders office who came in 1st individuallysmile We are checking his credentials as we speak."
