Another reminder that working K9 is one of the most dangerous jobs in law enforcemment, El Dorodo County deputies were shot along with their K9 today around noon. Initial reports indicate the injured deputies and the K9 are ok and being treated. Several SSD K9’s responded to assist however the suspect was found to have died from injuries and were not needed.

The SSD K9 Unit is highly anticipating the arrival of our all new bullet proof vests for our K9 partners donated exclusively through public donations. We as a K9 Unit will be more protected to deal with dangerous situations like these. We want to thank everyone who contributed to the vest program and making our unit one of the best equipped in the area.
