In memoriam of Corporal Bruce Verhoeven, Deputy Sandra Larson and Deputy Roger Bauman
As we prepare for celebrating this Christmas season with our family and friends,
please take a few minutes to remember our fallen officers who lost their lives
during the month of December.

killed during an armed robbery of the Gemco Store which was located at the
corner of Alta Arden and Fulton Avenue. He was working a special crime

him and was mortally wounded when the suspect opened fire and struck him.
December 8, 1998, Deputy Sandra Larson. Deputy Larson died following a
traffic accident on I-5 near the J Street off ramp. She and her partner were
transporting prisoners to the Main Jail.
December 12, 1961, Deputy Roger L. Bauman, Age 25. Deputy Bauman died at
the hospital from wounds he received during the exchange of gun fire following
