On April 28, 2005, several Sacramento Sheriff’s canine teams competed in the 34th annual Manteca Police Canine Competition, which is part of the Western States Police Canine Association 2005 trial circuit.  There were 41 Canine Teams from 15 different agencies competing in the event.  There were five phases in the competition: search, obedience, agility, protection and overall.

Deputy Steve LeCouve and his partner, Dantes, placed 2nd in obedience, 5th in agility, 5th in protection and 5th overall.
