Deputy Jenkins, I am so sorry for your loss. Not being an officer myself, I'll never know how strong and special the bond is between a K9 handler and his dog, but I know it's a bond like no other, and that Ado died doing what he loved for the person he loved.
Best wishes to you, your family, and your unit.

I am so very sorry about your loss. My heart goes out to you. Please accept my condolences. I know how much love is felt for your canine partners. I know my four footed princess is a part of our family.
I heard all the sirnes and helicopter last night but I had no idea what was going on.
I prey you finally catch the scum that led your furry partner into traffic.
Please feel free to contact me at any time, with updates, or if you need someone to work a booth at a fundraiser or some such.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Paula Woodward

My son is in the Army and a K-9 handler. Before he joined the army he worked for the Grayson County Sheriff dept. The picture cought by eye because he raises German Shepards. Great Dogs!We love them. We have 6 at the present time at my house.

My whole life I have grown up around Sheriff K9 dogs and their handlers, facinated by a true loyalty that can never be found anywhere else. I always wished my dad would be a K9 so we would have an excuse to have a huge dog and a good dog like Kuma was. Trust me, we miss him as much as you guys do. All of the dogs are sweet and they are so social. I love the K9 unit with all of my heart. You all are seriously the best and be careful out there. You guys are awesome.

Hi everybody!

I'm an officer from the K9 unit of the Metro Police Dept. of Zurich (Switzerland). I was visiting your website for the first time, it's just great! Nice idea with the screensavers.

I'm collecting some badge's from other K9 unit's. I would like to ask, if it is possible to get one from your departement? If you're interested, i would send you also one from our unit.

Best wishes for all of you
Steven

This website is fantastic! Great job.
I have always held members of law enforcement in high regards, and have always been intrigued and amazed by the dogs they employ. Your K-9 unit is definitely something to be proud of.
I'm currently researching the work and lives of
K-9 police dogs, and found this website to be very helpful. It's so well-organized and designed, and informative--the best I've come across.
Keep up the great work and stay safe!

I'm a policeofficer I'm Danish K9. I'm unfurnate in that disastruos situation, that i have got my dog suspended for line of duty. The things he can
1 : Search for clue's on a crimscene (blood, knifes, amunition, sperms, hair, burialed things and a lot more)
2 : follow a track of a person in up to 12 hours
3 : Search for people.
4 : search for bigger things in a big area (clotes, guns, bicycle's).
5 : He can divide a crowd a bunch of fightning people
6 : protect the handler
7 : Attack on command
8 : the dressur/training by fot is very good (perfect)
I'm bringing him with me in to US in the beginning of afpril month to sell him. The dog simply to good and would be shameless not letting him working.
I know this dog is worth a lot money. I have spend about 1000 - 1300 hour's mostly training at my job and ofcourse at real crimenal acts. If i find the right handler the price will go down a lot.
My regards Kaare L Madsen.

Hello,

I thought you might enjoy my newest book, Badge on My Collar--A Chronicle of Courageous Canines. The foreword was written by the Exec. Director of the U.S Police Canine Assoc. It can be viewed on www.authorhouse.com, www.authorhouse.co.uk, barnesandnoble.com,amazon.com and on the USPCA website.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be using the book as a prize in their monthly Name the Puppy Contest for Canadian children. This book profiles 15 memorable dogs, including the only K9 killed at the WTC on 9/11.

If you have a newsletter that reviews books, you can get one free by emailing pressreleases@authorhouse.com

Best wishes,

I have always been impressed by police and security dogs. The canine police officers in the tribute stories should be remembered as proud and loyal members of their respective police departments.

To all of the Sacramento Sheriff K-9 Assoc.
Thank you for all you do to protect and serve in my home town. I wish each and everyone one of you a safe and Merry Christmas. A special thanks for the holiday card I received. I just lost my beloved German Shepherd Oct. 14, 2007 and this will be my first Christmas in 10 years without him. Your card really lifted me. May god watch over and protect you and may 2008 be a safe and successful year for your very commendable Association.

Sincerely,
