Sammy K95

Well on July 2nd Sammy certified and has become an official member of the Sheriff’s Canine Detail. After just 6 short weeks Sammy showed us that he was much more mature and capable of learning than we had thought. After watching his fast progress we all agreed he was ready for the certification test.

The certification process is a state standard and must be evaluated by a certified canine handler from another agency.

Sammy had to perform a series of tests, which included off-line obedience, protection work, and his ability to search. Now I know that I maybe a little biased but I think he did great. The other handlers that witnessed the test agreed that he pasted with flying colors.

Just prior to the certification I picked up Sammy’s brand new K9-5 badge. After we passed the test and were certified as a K9 team I had the pleasure of placing his badge on his collar. Sammy is now a proud member of the Sacramento Sheriff’s Canine Detail.
