May 14th - 20, 2006 In 1962, President John F. Kennedy designated May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day, and the calendar week in which May 15th falls, as National Police Week. National Police Week pays tribute to the courageous men and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty. This year we honor two of our own, Deputies Joeseph Kievernagel and Kevin Blount.
