K913 Deputy Anthony Jenkins - K9 Ado
E-mail:
Hello, my name is Deputy Anthony Jenkins. I have been a Deputy Sheriff for the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department for thirteen years. Within those thirteen years, my job assignments have included work at the jail and street patrol. I am currently assigned to the Sheriff’s Canine Detail. I love my current job assignment and there is no other position I would want to work. I am the first and only African-American canine handler in the 150 year history of the Sheriff’s Department.
I just retired my previous K9 partner Falco. He is an eight-year old German shepherd from the Czech Republic. Falco became a deputy in 1999, and did an outstanding job on the street. Falco found numerous criminals and took them off the street, allowing home owners to rest peacefully at night. Falco was also used in evidence recovery, and locating missing persons. He was a certified in thirteen different odors used to make explosives, such as bombs.
In November of 2005 I trained and certified with my new K9 partner Ado. Ado is a German Shepherd imported from Holland and is extremely friendly. Im hoping to have as much success with Ado as I did with Falco.
In my spare time, I enjoy coaching teen basketball, playing basketball, and lifting weights. In Falco’s spare time, he enjoys spending time with the family and the female family shepherd.
