Tribute

Sometimes as handlers we take for granted our K9 partners truly special abilities as we are witness to them everyday. While serving the citizens of Sacramento County, the Sheriff’s K9 detail compiles an impressive list of apprehensions every year. Many of these are locating or apprehending seriously violent suspects or criminals committed to a life of crime. Many apprehensions go unrecognized as just part of the job. Occasionally however, those incidents involving a K9 or handler exhibiting “Outstanding Performance and Bravery In The Line Of Duty” are awarded the Bronze Star for bravery.
