Sacramento Sheriff K9 Association

​I started my career with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office in 2018 and was assigned to the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center.  While assigned to the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center, I became a Jail Training Officer and a member of the Investigative Services Unit.

 

In 2020, I transferred to Field Services and was assigned to North Division.  After two years in North Patrol, I transferred to Central Division and held a position of Field Training Officer.  I became interested in becoming a canine handler after acting as a cover officer for many canine searches.  In 2024, I tested and was selected to be a member of the canine team.

 

As a new handler, I was paired with a 14-month-old, high energy Belgian Malinois named Dave.  K9 Dave and I began several months of training before going out on patrol.

 

As much as K9 Dave loves being at work, when he is off, he loves to play with toys, rolling around on grass, and being pet.
